The Dort Worm Farm is a family run worm farm founded in 1998. We raise red worms (Eisenia fetida) in bins made of concrete blocks. The worms are fed washed horse manure which we allow to heat to 140 degrees before applying it to the bins. This kills any seeds or pathogens that may be in the manure.
We also sell the castings the worms produce as a soil amendment, at our local farmer's market. Worm "tea" made from the castings is sold as well.
